These days the bustling Medina revolves around preparations of Eid El Kebir.
Ziat as all parts of the Medina has settled vendors and oat straw and we are witnessing the arrival of sheep, there will be thousands who will come by Wednesday in the chamber of the city, at least one per house. Already
on many terraces can be seen and heard above their presence. All
actually starts in the major souks dedicated to this market occasional sharp eye of the buyer, palpation of the beast and lively discussion with the seller about the price even if ultimately the flexibility is virtually nonexistent. A beautiful living sheep is trading around 1800dhs (160 €) and a goat for 1000dhs (90 €). But the more we approach the date of the festival more prices go up!
Even supermarkets like Metro Marjane or have them stand "sheep".
After buying you have to negotiate the conveyance ....., small "Honda", scooters, transport.
For foreigners resident in Morocco Eid El Kebir means to plan ahead for daily life will be severely disrupted. It is primarily a religious festival and many Moroccans take leave during this period. Foremost among the artisans and merchants of the Medina. Then at most food stores will be closed. Due to sheep, butchers, poultry and fish sellers will lower their curtain at least for 5-6 days, even supermarkets not selling their shelves because consumers.
The restaurants will also be closed for at least 3 days .... and will then frozen and vegetarian. It is the same riads for ....

In fact we prefer not to receive during that period which allows the team to enjoy this holiday with family.
