"Greetings from Cora Sledge" by Leslie Larson

"At 82, Cora is obese, perverted too anxiolytics and smokes excessively. But the day when her children placed in a retirement home is ECT. Determined not to linger in this cul de sac, Cora makes every effort to regain control of his life. And for that, he must confront a past too long kept secret ... More than a character, Cora is an encounter between a woman and often irreverent intractable, that of a fair and honest vote on which one can only listen. It tells us that disobedience is often the first way to freedom, and above all, it is never too late ... A novel bursting with energy and emotion as close to things in life. "

MY OPINION:

A very nice book that I read with pleasure and delight. I am committed to this strong woman, as defined literally and figuratively.

It does not grow old, especially when of a sudden one of your kids put you in a nursing home without asking your opinion. It is true that sometimes facilitated by children no longer want to ask questions and leave the professionals to care for their parents.

"They all feel guilty because they put me here, so they do what they can so that I do not lose the ball. For Christmas I got a puzzle (as a waste of time There is no better) and a kit to embroidery (I always hated that.) Dean my son even offered coloring books with three breeds of dogs: a poodle, a collie and a German shepherd. They continued to believe me, fallen into second childhood, or what? "

But ultimately, this will allow Cora rebounding. In this nursing home, she realizes she is not so dependent than that and she can still live with beautiful things independently. We'll have to do it by hand and will take a job there, at the body of course but also the spirit.

Then slowly, she will be reborn by engaging in a diary. These books intimate that it intends to convey to his death his family, to show the life she had, the woman she became and is still, despite the hardships.

This book belongs to Cora Sledge
"Not to read after my death"

More evidence that these books will serve as his therapy and awareness!
Cora has no language in his pocket and it does not let them count and the turning of a corridor, love will arise. Heart of these stories that are born again and dream.
love it makes you beautiful!

Nevertheless
the idea is too harsh, the image of the nursing home is truly frightening but actually not that far from reality ...
sort of hospice where privacy is violated when one forgets the little things that make a life: a house, a pet, curtains, familiar objects ... Cora dream of his house on his porch, his little dog.

"When I pushed my door (door of the room at the Palisades Cora) smell when I was starting to get used greeted me - carpet fairly new, used disinfectant in the bathroom and light hot exhaust gases, which came from the car park outside my window. And below, we perceived that the scent of old piles in one place, people are fed, washed, treated as if they were one body, no past, no memories. "

But
Cora will fight to raise the head, lose weight and write, write, history as to finally put into words the pain, its flaws. telling us, our readers, its history.

"You already noticed the ads in magazines? Before, after? Where you are shown a picture of a big dondon in shorts with legs much fat, and a protruding belly tits hanging to the knees? Judging by his hair, it seems that a hurricane went through there, and it also has a wealth comely if her cat had just run over. Besides, we see a small thing in tight pants, with an ass bigger than a ball of ice, rising tits under his chin and a flatter stomach an ironing board. That one could not pinch an inch of her skin. Hair and makeup are perfect, and she smiled from ear to ear the other. Who would not do, in fact, with this figure? Unable to believe that the two pictures represent the same person.
Well now, I do. "

Writing colorful descriptions humorous. But also passages very beautiful and very moving on episodes from the life of Cora's very hard to have forged his personality ...

A beautiful gallery of secondary characters: Vitus, Marcos, Glenda, Abel, Ivy, Big ... And always behind Cora ultimately becomes a friend that we understand and with whom it hopes to live a lot of good things with which we hope.

By engaging, she accepts and opens his heart to the future and gives us a great lesson in life as anything, as long as there is life there is hope!

In summary, a very nice reading a beautiful novel that does not mince words and who spares us nothing of the life of Cora, the ups and downs of life. But finally a resolutely upbeat story!

Thanks Cora, thank you for telling and give your beautiful and sad story.
Happy reading and good kisses Cora!

Let me put video presentation of this book by Gérard Collard Black Claw! He speaks so well!
