My opinion:
Firstly I would like to thank Jean-Louis Nogaro for the dedications of his books and his kindness during our various meetings. Bookstores or book fairs is always a pleasant and friendly.
I'm not at my first Nogaro Jean-Louis and I hope to read more!
To date, the only one I have not read it "A good cop is like silk," the first of his series of thrillers with Captain Gerald Severine main character.
I can only urge you to discover the captain Severine, for which I am definitely too attached ... but that's another story! Read this series and tell me what you think!
But hey I am not smell there, I have to refocus because I wanted first of all you talk about my latest reading is "The war's perfume" .
For you confess, I must say that as Etienne, I can only be touched by a story with scenes taking place in my city of saints!
And yes, it's nice to be with the protagonists at the heart of my good and modest town of Saint-Etienne.
I did not know Saint-Etienne in time of war, but this story evokes very well. I was born in Saint-Etienne and I lived not so far away fifteen years! This means that I know my city.
I have on neighborhoods of choice and I passes plus (+) on the right side of the main street in the direction of Bellevue!
But anyway, when Jean-Louis Nogaro, takes us round the town with Caf's as if I was there!
"He descended into Chateaucreux station. There was not gone for a while. The neighborhood had changed since his last visit. The tram arrived now until then. Many old buildings had been razed. Saint-Etienne modernized. There were pros and cons of this desire to give color to the black city "
And the characters are endearing or repulsive otherwise. Cafuron Ernest aka the Caf is the hero of the book and c ' is also a term gaga Etienne (Cafuron = lantern). Winks author, Caf is also the nickname he uses on various discussion forums!
If I liked to walk in history and in my city and if the characters I liked, I admit that this album will not be my favorite the author ...
Indeed, I would have preferred to know more about them and dig their stories in the largest. The format is a format I think most New. I am not alone in having a taste of too little, my friends of the Book in Stock also deplored HERE.
There is a very long ellipse between the two periods, too much silence to my taste.
Although the merits, many are yet to hear silence on that period of war and occupation.
The reading is fast and sleek and nice, I like this style and simple but effective strands of humor Mr. Nogaro.
I urge you to discover my city, in the books of Jean-Louis Nogaro. For readers of crime fiction, I invite you to become acquainted with Gerald Séverine with his "trilogy".
And in any case I advise you to look with interest on the books of Editions Cayman!
