Leonie, purchased in Liberia, when she was a child, kidnapped, prostitute, fled twenty years of hell to find his illegal and undocumented in the streets of Paris.
Edme, an inspector of the Crim ', depressed by the violence, misery and cynicism that he encounters every day, discover a strange mass grave in the Marne.
Cyriane, son of a family in need of reasons to live, be ready an experimental voyage of a new genre, to find the thrill of extreme: the transfer of the soul in a body of borrowing ...
they have in common? All three carriers are souls, like all human beings. But sometimes the souls are not where they should be ...
Polar, romance and anticipation: Pierre Bordage plays of all genres with consummate skill ...
Author: Pierre Bordage
My opinion:
A book I swallowed, caught by the destinies of these three characters:
Leonie, Edme, Cyriane!
A style that does not give us an interesting thread and a book combining genres to our delight, yes as stated in the summary (see above) was the detective was the novel of anticipation and a beautiful love story. And especially a good idea to base!
The author is damn hard to live in one and two characters to bring three stories that initially seem very distant from each other.
I strongly attached to Leonie and I liked that love is stronger than anything and finally opening up to others and empathy are highlighted very strong.
I always wondered what it was in the mind of someone else ... While this book reminded me of my child questions. Younger, my older sister j'embĂȘtais continually asking:
"But how is your life? How do you think? What you feel ...?" (I wondered briefly what it was like to be someone else, she felt the mm things that me?)
Even today, I'd be curious to live in the body of a man to see and understand ... Is it so different?
Here in this history, men have invented a machine "The translator". This machine would have allowed me to know, because it allows the soul of an individual to join a ship and live through it in his body.
What an experience this must be, I find it fascinating.
But back to my book because here I am ready for anything as Cyriane to experience it ...
This book is really a good book ( Readers' Choice Award from Pocket Book ) and the idea of carrying souls is really a great idea bringing the book with ease. That is science fiction but very well Bordage happens to insert this technology into its history and make it quite credible, it does not ring true we truly believe!
Small flats, just really a tiny part .... few sentences with multiple commas chaos that makes my reading, but sometimes when we finally flees you feel that feeling ... And then a few characters left on the wayside, as the girlfriend of Cyriane, Aurelle that fades a little too late ....( at this time was it necessary to involve ???...)
But these are only a few reservations (though tiny) and they in no way tarnish this beautiful reading that I still trots in the head and that always makes me think I really know how it is in the heads of other ....
Some quotes:
Some quotes:
" Are people can change? Perhaps, if not to limit the world to their own perceptions, to embrace all ways to watch ... "
" Human beings all lived on the same land, but everyone imagined that the universe came down to his own perceptions, its only me. Hence perhaps the most human misunderstandings. If the beliefs and convictions depended on how the senses apprehended the outside world, how to put in place of another? "
The 5 lines of page 123 which begins at the 5th line: (addition to the ticket now I would put always this excerpt from the book page 123 )
He hoped that the experience would respond in part to his questions about the perception of the world from the focal point and that was the tiny self, the ego. For several days he would live with the sense of someone else.
"Is that one could choose to borrow his body?"
Good experience for you!
Bon voyage aboard the ship Leonie!
