Upon his return from Brazil, Dominique talks about her experience and gives us some nice pictures.

I am blessed to have visited the Sisters of Charity in Brazil. These women are so welcoming me open their hearts and taught me a lot. I learned mostly listening, acceptance of others and customs in everyday life.

I was touched by the happiness of those smiling faces at the residence Sao Francisco de Assis with sr. Rita. Residents, despite their disabilities and the difference in the language received me as one of their daughters. I attended the multidisciplinary meetings, helped to clean up the pharmacy, fed residents in need, is a bandage, took vital signs, etc..

The short journey to the sea Sr. Jacqueline with me to a few countries and has been fantastic.

Women of various community centers with activities that I did sewing, Christmas crafts demonstrated great openness to the stranger as I am. With different groups, I helped sew jeans and bags of cotton from different models. We also made Christmas stockings, red-nosed reindeer and a part of the pastor. With the support of Geovani Sr. and Sr. Iraci for better communication in Portuguese, the work turned into a workshop Father Christmas.

I enjoyed every day at the pleasure of giving a little of myself in my time and my energy without expecting anything in return. And at the end of each day, after being around women who have so little and that showed all the joy of learning to make something different, a new boss with a piece of the Canadian fabric, I felt more filled with love and serenity as before.

Every single day I was offered a new experience: Transit bus packed like sardines, snacks so numerous, the morning prayers with the sisters in the chapel of the house. Everything was a source of peace and wonderful discoveries.

I thank from my heart every person that has made this journey and encounters. Special thank you to Sr. Bibiane to prepare for the mission. In all of Brazil sisters, Jacqueline, Geovani, Iraci, Lourdes, Aparecida, Marli, Creuza Ana, Socorro, um Abraco. Hoping to attend Again, in a mission to Brazil.
